Chin surgery, or genioplasty, is a procedure to reshape the chin, either by enhancement with an implant, or reduction surgery on the bone. Chin surgery helps you achieve a balanced appearance and is often performed in conjunction with other procedures, such as a rhinoplasty (nose surgery), in order to achieve a pleasing facial balance. Many other features, such as the nose and jaw line, are reflected and enhanced by the size of the chin. Most chin surgery is done to give the appearance of a stronger chin; however, the chin can also be lengthened or shortened to accomplish facial harmony.
